I've stated before that I, as a rule, only deploy software to systems when no one is logged in. Some people responded that it was the craziest thing they had ever heard. I'm curious to know what other people do.
I don't see how anyone could do it any other way. How are you supposed to upgrade Java when the user is in Internet Explorer doing who knows what?
My users have been instructed to log out when the leave for the evening, but I've got systems that have launched at task sequence over TWO WEEKS ago, where step one is waiting for the user to log out. TWO WEEKS.
I've also got IT management that doesn't want the department to seem to Big Brotherish. Oi vey.
